It is enjoying great food with great company and making ever lasting memories which stay with you forever.
I had such an experience with my foodie friends from KPL.
It was a special dinner for me as I was meeting them all the first time and let me tell you, I enjoyed myself thoroughly in their company bonding over great food :)
We had a great dining experience feasting on the dishes from 3 States Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh at Jamavar, The Leela .
In the following pictures will share with you the details of the delicious food we had at Jamavar.
Let's start with this refreshing drink I had, it's called 'Panakam' - A Jaggery pepper drink flavored with cardamom from Tamil Nadu.
Appetisers -
These are the appetisers served at the ongoing 3 States Food Festival at Jamavar, The Leela Hotels in Mumbai
This platter consisted of four types of appetisers -
- Kuzhi Paniyaram, a dish from Tamil Nadu, they are steamed spicy lentil balls.
- Kari Menasu Jola Bezule, dish from Karnataka, spicy fried baby corn
- Aloo Gadda Vepudu, a dish from Andhra Pradesh, they are fried potato with masala & Andhra spices.
- Gobhi Mallimelagu is marinated cauliflower with coriander and pepper.
Must say they were all very delicious.
Post appetisers we were served hot Kothamallli Rasam, a drink from Tamil Nadu. It is coriander flavored spiced lentil broth. Very soothing!
Main Course -
These were the four delectable gravy's that were served -
- Udupi Tarkari Kurma, a dish from Karnataka, it is a mixed vegetable gravy prepared with coconut and yogurt.
- Mirpakai Patani Curry, a dish from Andhra Pradesh, it is a rich cashewnut & coconut based gravy with green peas and bhavanagari chilly.
- Gutti Venkaya Kura, a dish from Andhra Pradesh, it consisted of baby brinjal which was cooked in thick tangy gravy.
- Avial is a mixed vegetable made with coconut and cumin.
They were all so delicious, relished each one of them a lot :)
Loved the Sambhar , a dish from Tamil Nadu, it is a tangy lentil based vegetable broth.
In the picture above is Appam or Mini Dosa.
Apart from this we were served, Neer Dosa, a Parantha and also two kinds of rice, one was Ghee Rice and the other one was a special sweet rice which had dry fruits.
Sowie guys couldn't take pix of those as was so lost relsihing the yummy food, that couldn't wait for the click, lol ;)
Desserts -
In the picture above is Anna Payasam, a dish from Karnataka, it's raw rice cooked in milk with dry fruits. It was so good . Loved it :)
This was the other dessert served called Pesarapappu, a dish from Andhra Pradesh, it is a traditional Andhra style lentil sweet. Delicious!

OK guys now I am a vegetarian so have shared all vegetarian pix but there was so much more for the non-veg eaters.

In appetiters -
- Meen Karuvepillai Melagu Varuval, a dish from Tamil Nadu, curry leaves & pepper marinated griddled fish.
- Kari Kaidina, a dish from Karnataka, it was deep fried chicken marinated with ginger garlic paste.
- Uppu Kari, a dish from Tamil Nadu, uppu literally means salt and lamb cooked dry with chettinad spices
For main Course -
- Chapala Munakai Koora, a dish from Andhra Pradesh, it was tangy and spicy fish curry with drumstick.
- Kari Vellai Kurma, a dish fromTamil Nadu, it was mutton preparation in cashew base gravy.
- Madras Chicken Curry, dish from Tamil Nadu, a traditional spicy chicken curry with coconut based gravy.
Priced at Rs. 3550/- per head, this was every bit worth the royal experience.
Excellent Food, Beautiful Ambience and Warm Hospitality, enjoyed every bit of my time with my dear friends :)
